Being fully aware of Lionel's patchy history with Flyer, I still suggest that 
we all might wait and actually look at and run a sample before making a 
judgement. What I had in my hand looked like it will be better overall than a 
reworked Gilbert version. By the way, those "junky" NYC sets had pretty nice 
graphics and sold out very quickly. The two car add-ons are almost no where to be 
found, so there is a market for S gauge trains with a traditional Gilbert 
"scaleplate feel". The S gauge community is a small one, but it still encompasses a 
broad range of expectations.
