For Santa Fe fans, there is a nicely restored display ATSF 2-8-0 #811 at the Atchison, KS rail museum. It will be interesting to see how close the SHS 2-8-0 comes to the prototype. Of course the "as delivered" engine was usually modified as we know. But for any of you Midwesterners or any traveling railfans, it is worth a stop at the museum. In addition to the 2-8-0, there is a large collection of rolling stock, an interesting inside museum, live tracks close by, a wonderful 100-year (or so) swivel rail bridge, and an adjoining similar vintage vehicular bridge across the river.
