<<<<I certainly have no argument against bidding early if you feel comfortable doing that. However, you don't need to do that to "bookmark" the auction. Just log in and click on "watch this item".

The ONLY time I will bid early is if I am not going to be home and i understand when people do this. I hate these people who will compete back and forth when there are 4 or so days left, all this does is jack up the price. At times I feel that I am the only one who likes to save money. Also, about the bidding to bookmark the auction, I understand where you are coming from but wouldn't you rather save the $1 or so (if you win) and simply "watch the item"? I know there is a 20 auction limit, but you can always "bookmark it" it the old fashion way by using your browsers bookmarker. If you disagree, I suppose I am just cheap.
