I just sent this note to Train America Studios, the makers of the Cab
control devices we would need in using TMCC. Their site is fascinating and
helpful, but it falls a little short. These were my suggestions:

Sirs:
Recent discussions on the S-Trains mail list have been positive with respect
to using TMCC or the new MTH system to enhance control of our 2-rail AC
hi-rail trains. Many of our locomotives are older American Flyer universal
motors. Newer Flyer as well as the engines made by S-Helper Service and
American Models usually use DC motors with a rectifier. Our preferred track
power is 17VAC.

Our list is comprised of approximately 600 members. I am constantly
surprised when I meet S-gaugers in my travels and they tell me they don't
subscribe to the list. The S market is far larger than most manufacturers
realize. Large production runs of cars and locos frequently sell out
because of underestimation by the makers. S-Gauge now has its own category
in E-Bay, and I find modern S-gauge rolling stock on the shelves of even
small Mom & Pop hobby stores in out of the way locations.

Your website seems like it could be the clearinghouse for an S-gauge foray
into TMCC. Since none of our engines come equipped for command operation,
we would need to buy it all from you. We can buy the basics off the shelf
anywhere, but we would need the UCUBs and UCABs and any other materials you
might deem necessary.

Here is what I am asking you to do. Please address S-Gauge in your website.
As you have set up 0 3-rail and 0 2-rail and G, please set up a section for
S. To me, 0 2-rail means DC operation. For S-Scalers, who use DC, this
info would be useful, though most use DCC. For S-Hi-Railers, AC operations
in 2 rail may change some of the parameters, and you will need to address
this.

A little research and a bit of repurposing of your existing inventory to our
needs, as well as adding a few pages to your website, is all that would be
required for you to open a new market segment for your fine products.

I look forward to your reply and I trust you will take my suggestions to
heart.

Thank you,

Chris Zizzo
