CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC DATA EDITOR

CAMBRIDGE

The Royal Society of Chemistry (in collaboration with the Cambridge
Crystallographic Data Centre) requires a crystallographer to work on its
internationally renowned primary journals.

The position will involve coordinating material relating to crystal
structure determinations submitted to the Society's journals, including the
use of software to check crystallographic data for accuracy and novelty. You
will also act as the interface between the Society and the Cambridge
Crystallographic Data Centre and the Society and the crystallographic
community.  The post holder will also have the opportunity to assist in the
publishing functions of the Society's innovative electronic-only journals,
including CrystEngComm http://www.rsc.org/crystengcomm

The appointee is likely to hold a PhD in chemistry or crystallography and
should have a strong background in crystal structure determination and a
sound knowledge of commonly used structure packages. Some experience in the
preparation of crystallographic material for publication would be an
advantage.

Starting salary will be between GBP 18060 per annum to GBP 22272 per annum, 
on a scale rising to GBP 26484 per annum. The start date for this post is
negotiable.
