I have had good success using s3ql, but it's time to look at
firewall/security.

Which ports do I need to make sure are open in a firewall in order to use
s3ql mount points?

I see that it supports https_proxy, so I guess this could be configured,
but I’m mostly concerned about the default configuration.

   https/443 ? http/80? ssh/22?

It looks like the 'local' backend might be different than the s3/gs/swift
backends, perhaps (?).
