Using a test file system is fine. Note that you can also make a full
backup of your entire bucket first with e.g. gsutil:
gsutil -m cp -R s3://my-bucket/valuable-data/**
s3://my-bucket/copy-of-valuable-data/
Then you can try the upgrade on the copy first (but try a test file
system with less data first, since the upgrade may take a while).
