FYI, he as of August 11, has deleted the PPA (https://bitbucket.org/nikratio/s3ql/issues/129/having-trouble-upgrading-s3ql-on-ubuntu). A warning would've been nice ahead of time, because I'm now on a version of s3ql that cannot be redownloaded (since the ppa is gone).
