These sound like transitive dependencies (i.e., things that S3QL doesn't
depend on, but the things that S3QL depend on depend on them). They
should be installed automatically by your package manager. Trying to
maintain a list of all these transitive dependencies doesn't make sense,
I think.

http://www.rath.org/s3ql-docs/installation.html#installing-s3ql already
says "SQLite has to be installed as a shared library with development
headers.".

Were you perhaps looking at instructions from a different site?

Hmm. I think this means your pytest version is too old.
