Added Javadoc and made some changes. Merged with piper branch and pushed.
Please verify that I didn't break anything. Use gradle ver 1M7 (or wrapper
gradlew will download it for you.) Leaving this open to see if there any
additional comments. Still to do to get better type checking: enforce Generics
in Diezel.
