*Swaziland Solidarity Network [SSN] Statement on SFTU congress.*

The Swaziland Solidarity Network [SSN] wishes to congratulate the Swaziland
Federation of trade Unions [SFTU] on it’s successfully congress held on the
9-11th October 2009 in Matsapa Swaziland. We also wish to congratulate the
newly elected leadership led by comrade Barnes Dlamini. To you comrades we
say the workers of Swaziland has entrusted you to this huge challenge ahead
we know that you have the interest of the workers and the poor Swazis  at
heart.

We also take this opportunity to pay revolutionary salute to comrade Jan
Sithole for serving the workers federation with excellence in the 25 years
in particular as General Secretary. Comrade Jan led the workers in the most
difficult times in the history of Swaziland. We are most encouraged by your
words when in you last address, you reaffirmed revolutionary continuity for
multi-party democracy in Swaziland and that you will "be even more effective
in dealing with human rights related issues.”

Meanwhile the SSN will continue with its every Friday protest outside the
Swaziland consulate in braamfontain  Johannesburg in demanding among the
democratisation of Swaziland and  the immediate release of comrade Amos
Mbedzi who is still languishing in Mswati’s jail since September 20, 2008.
Comrade Amos is a South African from Limpopo province, a member of the ANC,
SACP, MKVA, and the SSN  his court case is due to begin on the 27th October,
2009 at the High caurt of Swaziland in Mbabane.
