*Sibaya AKA People Parliament is King Mswati’s pleasant illusion that
deserve an all-out-uprising by all means necessary*

In his attempt to understand the large number of falsehoods accepted as
true in the real world, Rene Descartes concluded that a despot like King
Mswatiis “*a prisoner who is enjoying an imaginary freedom whilst asleep,
as he begins to suspect that he is asleep, he dreads being woken up, and
goes along with the pleasant illusion as long as he can*”.Thus in the past
week, the pleasant illusion was exacerbated by the impotent parliament
(Sibaya) - otherwise known as the People's parliament: a talk-fest that is
without terms of reference and will neither have any progressive impact in
the political and socio-economic status quo. As confirmed by the most
senior prince who is regarded as the custodian of the monarchy – Prince
Masitsela, indeed it is a fruitless non-scientific exercise designed to be
a stress - relief ploy to sway international and regional attention from
the political upheaval and undermine protests by unions, and hopefully
break their revolutionary momentum. The blame and excuse game was not a
surprise during his Sibaya opening speech which alluded that the source of
all political and socio-economic problems engulfing Swaziland is a result
of foreign or alien influence emanating from regional neighbours.

It was therefore shocking, for some of the retired conservative business
people claiming to be leading a coalition of civil society to glorify the
Sibaya, and claim King Mswati is genuine, when even sycophants who crawl on
their bellies when meeting Mswati know that he is a pathological LIAR and
unethical. If he was genuine, why are some of the political parties and
were not invited to participate in the debate, precisely because it was the
very same Sibaya session that outlawed pluralism and any semblance of
democracy in 1973.

Lest we forget that aprogressive former advisor of King Mswati III,
confided to the CIA, as reported by Wikileaks, that King Mswati III is
mentally challenged and therefore does not have the capacity to apply logic
and is therefore dependant an archaic cultural practices and rituals of
which one of them is the peoples parliament AKA Sibaya. This charade is so
important to the monarchy that resources that should have been used by the
Swazi government to cater for the 4.5 % demand by unions were diverted to
cater for logistics related to the Sibaya. For example, transportation of
sycophants to and from the venue, provision of food laced with King
Mswati’s sperm harvested during the Incwala Ceremony, extensive muti work
on the surface where the people sit when making submission and praising
King Mswati III, and of course with the hope that they might be noticed so
as to be roped into King Mswati'sgovernment.

Reliable sources from the Kings Office estimate is that more than R5
million was provided by Swazi government and was spent on hiring over three
thousand people to attend the wasteful event and bonuses were budgeted for
people to make pro-regime submissions, especially submissions which blame
local bread and butter issues on world-wide recession and failure by South
Africa to provide a loan. Mr Moses Motsa, King Mswati’s business front, was
appointed as the attendance organising coordinator entrusted with the task
of bribing gullible people who are associated with the Mass Democratic
Movement to attend the gathering so that it can appear to be inclusive of
all political persuasions in the country. To achieve this Motsa prostituted
a name of a trade union movement to invite various political formations to
George Hotel, same hotel he pretends to own in Manzini when in fact the
hotel is one of King Mswati’s ill-gotten properties.

This lobbying meeting was advertised as a discussion on whether to attend
the king's parliament or not.The king's aide chaired the meeting and the
behaviour of some union leaders indicated that they had already made a deal
with Mr Motsa that they would indeed bring their supporters to the royal
kraal. Motsa pledged to provide these stalwarts and their rented crowd with
transport to the venue and promised them that they would be given a chance
to address the nation.

Now that the charade has come and gone, the reality will sink in, because
nothing will change, save for the appointment of retired business people
and former union leaders who made pro Mswati contributions to public
positions.

For us, who for the past three decades have been in the fore front of the
struggle for a democratic Swaziland, it is Aluta Continua.
