THE STRUGGLE FOR SWAZILAND PEOPLE CONTINUES

It is with great sadness and disbelief to learn that the South African
government has revoked the asylum permits of three leaders of the Communist
Party of Swaziland (CPS) that have been living in South African since 2005
whom are not facing deportation. This is the very same CPS that was launched
in South Africa on 12 April 2011, by Swazi men and women who have witnessed
the systematic persecution of the Swazi population, who are burdened by
political and social oppression, as well as enforced mass poverty, the worse
HIV/AIDS pandemic in the world, and a horrific low level of life expectancy.
It is very confusing when the SA government claims that there is no
political problem whatsoever in Swaziland and the claim of the Swazi
judicial system being independent and not subjecting any political
opposition party activist to any persecution.

One wonders if it's worth mentioning that the three leaders fled Swaziland
in 2005 when they were facing arrest for engaging in political activism in
the country. It is very confusing then to understand on what grounds the SA
government base its reasons not to allow CPS comrades to continue leaving in
SA while they continue fighting the banning of political parties being
revoked and the unjust system the Swazi people are currently leaving under.

This is the clear indication that the SA government has never been genuine
and are forever calling for the selective international solidarity whenever
it suits them. How does one government call for the Nigeria abducted girls
to be safely returned home and on the other hand support the government and
the system that has killed countless Swaziland people without reason? The
government that recognizes that the human rights of the Palestinian people
that are being violated by the Israelis and send no clear message on how
they pledge support for the affected people but be bold enough to send three
defenseless men to the land that guarantees them no safety and security nor
freedom of expression and association?

This is the public display of affection by the SA government towards the
Swazi King at the high cost of the lives of ordinary Swazi people. It is
clearly indication that the SA government is assisting the system to shut
the voice that speaks for our fellow Swazi people and support the government
that rules with fear.

It is only a hypocritical government that will let innocent men to the
lion's den to be detained without trial for as long as the monarchy will
permit. It is the government that supports the suppression and the violation
of the basic human right. It's only the government that has ever fought for
the liberation of the African people and was labeled a terrorist group in
the process, that will greatly undermine the voice and impact of the
international community towards the liberation of the Swazi people. It is
time our SA government proved that international solidarity is not a lip
service or a token to be used to earn brownie points. We join many parties
in the call for the SA government to review it's decision of revoking the
permits or their blood will be on their hands.
