Allow us as now orphaned again to say our parting and sorrowful words to our
beloved humble leader. It would seem fate has the upper hand and that the
revolution is becoming more and more fatherless with your absence together with
members of your generation, Umgwenya; The Luthuli Detachment.

As children of the Revolution how must we live without your presence given the
revolutionary hollowness we are left with from your departure?

Your sense of purpose will last a life time in the South African Revolution the
NDR. When there are many today that have abandoned the revolutionary line. You
have remained steadfast and a loyal member of the African National Congress and
the Congress Movement.

Looking back we wonder how many would know that you initiated and brought
political material in Limpopo with Comrade Magunyana and Comrade Mashamba. And
setting up the political education unit and laying a solid base for a
Provincial Commissariat there and the political school for the establishment of
ANC structure in the province after the unbanning.

So too how many would dare write about your role in the struggle for non-racism
within the Indian Congress, the Congress Alliance as well as the integration of
both the then Natal and Transvaal Indian Congress into the brand Mass
Democratic Movement structures under the leadership of the African National
Congress?

Historians and many will write and tell us about your arrest and the treason
trial and rightly so. But how many actually will write and document your prison
notes and writings on the the Arabic Revolution and the Internationalist
Struggle? The struggle for peoples of Algeria, Egypt, the Saharawi right to
self determination well as your Swazi struggle contribution?

The last lesson we learned from you was it does not mean if you differ with a
comrade it therefore means you hate them. And this is one lesson that we shall
never forget and take to our hearts.

Therefore allow us again to say; Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un - Kamrad
Ahmed Kathrada.

Lala ngoxolo Baba. Lalangoxolo Muntu Omdala, Alwenlanga Lungehlanga.
