Statement, 28 May 2019 *Late CPS International Organiser Comrade Njabulo Dlamini expected to appear in court today on trumped up charges* While his family, comrades and friends mourn his death and prepare for his funeral, the late International Organiser of the Communist Party of Swaziland will be called up as Accused Number 1 this morning at the Manzini Magistrate’s Court in Swaziland. He is expected to appear together with the Party’s Deputy National Chairperson, Comrade Mcolisi Ngcamphalala, on traffic offence charges. The CPS International Organiser died on Thursday 23 May 2019. The two leaders were arrested on 11 January 2019, accused with jay-walking, while they were organising a workers’ meeting. The arrest was nothing but a political ploy by Mswati’s police to crack down on union activities. The charges have since been amended to include assault of a police officer. Normally, such insensitivity by the regime would fall to be condemned by all normal people, but the people of Swaziland already know that it is within the regime’s nature and general character to attack democracy activists, together with their families, even in death. Despite such attacks by the regime, the Communist Party of Swaziland will continue to fight, in unity with workers and oppressed, for democracy in the country.
