Monajat is being converted to Python, and its almost there. Actually
probably we can release it now, as I still don't have an idea how to
  solve the remaining issue.

Zekr is built with GCJ indeed, but I remember that there was an issue
when it was run using GCJ's JRE. Anyways, the current zekr package
depends on java2-runtime, which is provided by gcj-jre. So if a system
has gcj-jre as the only installed JRE, then zekr will be installable
  on that system.

I cannot comment about webstrict, maybe Mehdi has info about wether it
  is GCJ compatible or not.

Anyways, since you've mentioned saving space, what is the space
requirements of both OpenJDK JRE & GCJ JRE ? Is there a significant
  difference ?
