Wa alaykom assalem wa rahmato Allah wa baraketoh, As I know you can't do that, you should make an upgrade for ubuntu (in fact more than one upgrade: 9.04 --> 9.10 --> 10.04 --> 10.10 --> 11.04) than you upgrade sabily.
