Steven,
I migrated the general input encoding handling function from
Perl's XML Parser module.
I already send this patch to this list in 20/Aug.
It is made for the cvs version of sablotron but it still works with
Sablotron 0.43.
To handle the big-5 source encoding with this patch, you should prepare
the big-5 encoding map, because this patch has the maps for some latin
encodings and some japanese encodings only.
The output encoding implementation of sablotron is using iconv,
but this patch is using the another encoding maps.
This implemention is verbose ,so I have a plan to implement the input
encoding handling capability using iconv.
