Mark (and other folks),

You are not the only one who is unhappy because of this delay.

We can see now that we did a mistake, when we had scheduled so many
changes to be included in this release. The most important issues,
xsl:sort
and switching to expat 1.9x, have been made as expected (before the end
of October), but than we decided to redesign encoding support to be
more straightforward, and to include all patches waiting in queue.

Moreover, a new important benchmark has appeared (XSLT Mark) and
Sablotron
results have been pretty disappointing for us. Since it wasn't too
difficult to identify
reasons, we decided to fix these week points for upcoming release as
well.
This is done already, Tom have reported a significant improvement the
last week.

Unfortunately, switching to the new expat package has changed the
install
procedure and this prevents us from releasing up-to-date patches.

We are still not able to give you an exact release date, but it
shouldn't take longer
than a few days. For those willing to test current development version,
there are
CVS account details available at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Best Regards,
Petr
