We have just finished compile tests on Solaris (thanks to Steve Rowe).
The 0.50 compiles smoothly on versions 2.6, 7 and 8. To compile 0.50 on 
older versions (tested on 2.5.1) there may be some tweaking necessary.

A binary package (for v7)  should be published tomorow.
