Last time I spent a few days trying this (with an earlier version of
PHP, and with heroically patient help from Matt Sergeant and other
Ax-kitters) I gave up because I couldn't eliminate all the problems
related to different versions of expat lurking on my system. Looking
at the latest rash of messages, it looks to me like this expat library
problem is still there, but folk really are slaving away at sorting it
(which is why the ones who really understand the problems don't have
time yet to do docs for the rest of us.) My guess is that if you
don't need it tomorrow, it's best to wait till next week or so....
The wait is worth it. When it doesn't segfault Apache, it's truly
wonderful...
