No real makefile problems, currently you can only use Sablotron 0.44 on FreeBSD.
Did you use GNU make (gmake?), you must.
Is the "special version" of expat (Sablot-Expat-1.1.2) installed in the correct place
(i.e within the Sablot-0.44
directory).
Other than that I believe it should work (minus xsl:sort of course, grr)
