This feature definitely should be implemented and your effort is welcome.
It just could be useful to check with [EMAIL PROTECTED] (who
works on xsl:number implementation) if it doesn't pay to share some of
his code. Both formatting functions should work in a consistent way.
A quick patch is welcome anyway, optimization may be done later :)
