Call For Submissions
Submissions Deadline: 5th June 2009
We are pleased to announce Document 7, 21st-25th Oct 2009, CCA,
Glasgow, Scotland.
As we enter our 7th year we are seeking submissions which do more
than scratch the surface - submissions which help us more closely
understand the world around us. From politically charged frontline
reportage to cinematic explorations of what it is to be human, we
welcome films which challenge, engage and bring new perspectives to
the festival and its audience.
We invite applications from both established & emerging documentary
filmmakers, to take part in the UK's only festival dedicated to
international human rights.
Document understands human rights in its broadest sense, and will
screen a representative selection of documentary films both old and
new, from home and abroad addressing issues such as:
Immigration & asylum ; racism ; miscarriages of justice ; eviction ;
poverty; social exclusion ; war and conflict ; workers/unemployed
rights ; self determination ; mental health & social care ; young
people ; women ; human trafficking ; indigenous cultures ;
environmental exploitation & disaster ; global policies versus local
effects...

Call for Collaborations:
Document 7 is also looking to discuss programming opportunities and
establish relationships with organisations and individuals interested
in collaborating on projects which explore human rights.
We are particularly keen to make connections with music venues,
promoters and organisations with a view to building a programme of
related music events.
