Das EU-Projekt CULBURB beschäftigt sich mit Phänomenen der Suburbanisierung in
Prag, Budapest, Bratislava, Ljubljana, Warschau und Wien. Als Reaktion auf
ausgewählte „Gegenden“ und deren Umfeld werden pro Gebiet fünf „Akupunkturen“
umgesetzt. Das sind architektonisch-künstlerische Interventionen, die mit
mininalen Eingriffen maximale Wirkung, im Sinn längerfristig positiver Anstöße,
erreichen wollen. In Wien konzentriert sich das Projekt auf Sandleiten und
Umgebung.
Bei allen räumlichen, sozialen und historischen Unterschieden zwischen den an
CULBURB beteiligten Gebieten, gibt es doch viele vergleichbare Situationen, wie
etwa fehlende gemeinschaftliche Praxis.

The EU project CULBURB deals with the phenomena of suburbanization in Prague,
Budapest, Bratislava, Ljubljana, Warsaw and Vienna. In a response to selected
“districts” and their surroundings five “acupuncture treatments” are carried
out in each area. These architectural and artistic interventions work with
minimal means to achieve a maximum long term effect.
In Vienna, the project focuses on the Sandleiten neighborhood. Despite the
number of spatial, social and historical differences between the focused areas,
lack of common interests and practice seem to be a symptom in all of them.
