I spent some time looking at this after your posting yesterday. The symptom is that MathJax does not understand the macros \newcommand and \verb So, something has happened when the sage cell initialized. There is nothing wrong with your code. In fact, if you paste the code with the error into the cell in the page without the error, you will see that it works fine. (and vice-versa) Another symptom is that the working code auto-evaluates when you click the link, but the other one does not.
