Dear Dan,

I have a question about #8154 and the Demazure character formula.

I'm looking at the references, the papers of Miller and Kashiwara that
are referenced in the patch. The references are very helpful.

My question is this. In the papers, the Demazure character is defined
for any weight that is an extremal weight of the crystal. However the
implemented function returns an answer for any weight. I.e. if the
highest weight is (2,1,0) for A2, the extremal weights would be
permutations of (2,1,0), but the method does return an answer if
you plug in (1,1,1).

My question, is this meaningful?

Not really. Perhaps the safest would be to just allow to enter
reduced words? Or to put assertions in the code?

Anne
