I haven't played seriously with it, but Manuel Kauers (in CC), Maximilian Jaroschek, Fredrik Johansson, have developed a package that includes guessing facilities: http://www.risc.jku.at/research/combinat/risc/software/ore_algebra/doc/guessing.html The more people play with it, the better!
