Definately.  But maybe we can have a little icon / flag somewhere that says "no

My gut instinct is to say that it isn't too bad.  As we get more features, the 
notebook is turning into a very mutable thing -- and some people will like it 
one way, and others will like it another way -- once it takes more than one or 
two clicks (every time you load a page!) to make it look the way you want, it 
gets obnoxious.  But you're right, this might all be too complicated.  We'll 
burn that bridge when we get to it.
