If there is no dependency.  Just type, e.g.,

    cd SAGE_ROOT
    touch spkg/installed/gd-2.0.33

and the build process will assume that gd was installed.

Thanks.   This means that either we remove gd from SAGE or find a
way to build it without X11 installed.
