Just in case they are being considered, laptops are a bad idea. One
reason is that they often have different performance characteristics to
deskop machines. The second reason is that some laptops do not have
hardware performance counters that their desktop siblings do have. This
makes it hard to get accurate timings.

I'm personally aiming to support machines of 500MHz or more with FLINT.
But I wouldn't be disappointed if all the machines were very recent and
at the high end of the performance curve.
