Some standard texts (that I've used when teaching/learning)
use "valuation" to refer to the integer-valued function, and "absolute value"
to refer to the actual absolute value.   Certainly both uses of the
word "valuation" are commonly used in the literature.

I agree with having ord as a synonym.
