Thank you for writing. Of course I did not seriously intend to cast
you or the Sage project in a negative light. I was merely trying
(perhaps too forcefully) to express what I see as a possible external
reaction to the close relationship between Sage and other projects. I
am glad that you have stated the Sage goals and motivations very
clearly so that it is possible to base important decisions about the
future of projects like Axiom in a more rational manner. I am
personally very sympathetic to these goals exactly as you have
statement them.
