"Core Components of SAGE": I would change "... and build with GCC" to "... and portable". (It feels a bit odd to say that Maxima "builds with GCC". Also, many people will probably think that GCC refers only to the C compiler, rather than the GNU Compiler Collection.) "Who is writing SAGE?": While it's true that the barrier to a SAGE developer becoming less active is very low (I've proven an example over the last couple of months), you probably meant that the barrier to becoming MORE active is very low.
