+1 on the suggestion to help on conda-forge packaging. Ask Isuru Fernando how you can help. This is, in my opinion, the most important direction for sage packaging - it will impact both macOS and Linux. Regarding homebrew, my suggestion is to limit work to specific problems with packages that they already have -- in particular to report outdated or broken packages.
