cmake is an advanced build system and currently an optional package, as it is only used for building optional or experimental packages. I propose to make cmake a standard package (https://trac.sagemath.org/ticket/32213). (It is available as a system package on all supported platforms/distributions.) This will allow us to switch the standard package flint from its traditional build system to its new cmake build system, which will be more robust.
