For those in arithmetical algebraic geometry, the ratpoints
program might be of interest. It is GPL'd (GPLv3) and written in C.
Some documentation was just posted to the math arxivs:

Title: Documentation for the ratpoints program

This note explains how to obtain, install, and use the ratpoints program. The
program finds rational points up to a specified height on hyperelliptic curves
using a highly optimized quadratic sieving algorithm.
