I agree -- I was thinking that as soon as Kiran's code was merged, someone who knew their way around all the various code we have for elliptic and hyperelliptic curve zeta functions (so including David Harvey's stuff that was just merged) would come along and add in code that called off to the appropriate places. I probably should have done some of that for elliptic curves when I was refereeing the code, but I don't know anything about what goes on in the hyperelliptic case ... so I was lazy. :)
