Well, I am much more interested in gcc -v since the above can cover 3
or so XCode releases.

With SHAREDFLAGS set in the NTL.spkg the build of Sage finished for me
on a OSX 10.4/PPC box. Either way, the fix will be in alpha5, but we
are still doing something odd the way we build the dynamic NTL library
on OSX, but I can't put my finger on it at the moment.
