Hi, we spent about 6 hours with Prabhu trying to install VTK in Sage on Mac on the scipy09. We failed and Prabhu suggested to just use the framework build of python.
I will try in the second half of September (I am busy till then). If that works, I will just try to switch to the framework build with FEMhub (femhub.org). Hopefully Sage could maybe switch too, we'll see. Ideally I don't want to maintain something different than Sage. But unfortunately VTK and mayavi is essential to what we do and if it can't be installed on Mac with the current approach, it has to be fixed somehow.
