From some discussions I had with William the other day, it would appear
that on Solaris, one needs a Hence on can not build Sage with the gcc
supplied with Solaris, as it is not built with Fortran support.

If this is the case, is there any point in building sage_fortran on
Solaris. Or more to the point, what platforms is it useful on? If it's
only useful on platforms X, Y and Z, then I think it should be ignored
on any other platform.
