I spent quite a bit of time updating some code which does some preliminary checks of the Sage build.
http://sagetrac.org/sage_trac/ticket/7021 William thought it was such an improvement, he made it a blocker for 4.1.2, which I must admit pleased me. I would be interested if anyone can try to build sage-4.1.2.rc2 is some semi-plausible, but not incorrect way. There are a couple of bugs I have noticed with version 0.4. Neither result in worst behavior than we had in version 0.3, but both are undesirable behavior. I'll fix them in a 0.5. But I'd really like to know of any issues with this.
