Maybe the Maxima share package fourier_elim is useful to you. There is no documentation, but there are some examples in rtest_fourier_elim.mac. Also look in the mailing list archive for some mention of it. I'm sure the author (Barton Willis) would be happy to answer questions posted to the mailing list.
