When one launches the notebook, it says to go to http://localhost:8000. This is irrespective if whether you are sitting at the local host or on a server the other side of the world.

Would it not be better to put the IP address there of the server which is running Sage? In some cases that might be the local host, but it does not matter. My localhost has an IP of 192.168.1.14. However, whether I typed in

http://192.168.1.14:8000

or

http://localhost:8000

makes no practical difference on the local host, but the former will work, and the latter will not if I'm using a remote machine.

The issue might get more complex if proxing via apache, or something like that. But in those instances, the person setting this up should be more aware of what is happening.

As it is now, if I install Sage on a machine on my network, it still tells me to go to localhost, even though the server is not running on that IP.
