There is no maxima-edu list. I did send a note to the Mathematica newsgroup, which has, I think, a large following even though it is moderated. There is also sci.math.symbolic but it seems to be filled with spam, and hard to read unless you have a filtered newsgroup reader. I did not send to any of the general math-education newsgroups since I don't read any of them. Of course the article did not mention maxima, macsyma, sage, mathematica, etc. Out of curiosity, did you read the article? What did YOU think about it?
