I've created this ticket in response to a problem noticed by someone else on
Linux, and the same problem seen by me on Solaris.

Under some circumstances, having a local copy of python on a machine can screw
up Sage. Any thoughts how this might be resolved?
Currently I'm resorting to changing the permissions to 000 on the directories
containing the python libraries in /usr/local/lib, which is hardly ideal.
