Uh oh...in my 4.5.2.alpha1 tree, I don't have a zlib dependency for libpng. I'll put it back in. (BTW, I think this shows why John Palmieri's recent request for more Mercurial repos is very smart -- if I had merged a patch there, I could export it and know exactly how the file changed. As it stands, I have to try to remember if I replaced the file correctly. My ultimate dream -- as far as Sage revision control goes -- is to be able to precisely recreate the source for a given release with a "hg up whatever".)
