While this gets me past this particular message, it still does not do
the job:

gu...@pasechnik1:/tmp/xx$ sage -clone xxx
Now cloning the current Sage library branch...
hg clone  sage sage-xxx
abort: Permission denied: sage-xxx
Error cloning
....

Is it trying to make a clone in-place rather than at the location I
want ?
