Recently in order to make some constructive comments on a trac ticket
I needed to build a part of it without autoconf, so I temporarily
rename autoconf to something else.
Needless to say I forgot to put it back, which was lucky, as I seem to
have uncovered a bug. Without autoconf, the cddlib package will not
build. See below

of /export/home/drkirkby/sage-4.6.2.rc0/install.log. Describe your
computer, operating system, etc.
If you want to try to fix the problem yourself, *don't* just cd to
/export/home/drkirkby/sage-4.6.2.rc0/spkg/build/cddlib-094f.p8 and
type 'make check' or whatever is appropriate.
Instead, the following commands setup all environment variables
correctly and load a subshell for you to debug the error:
(cd '/export/home/drkirkby/sage-4.6.2.rc0/spkg/build/cddlib-094f.p8'
&& '/export/home/drkirkby/sage-4.6.2.rc0/sage' -sh)
When you are done debugging, you can type "exit" to leave the
subshell.

Can anyone else repeat reproduce this problem, if they rename
autoconf and automake to something different.
If this is a bug, should it be a blocker for 4.6.2, since we seem to
have a perquisite that is not listed as one for Sage?
It's not clear to me why autoconf/automake should be needed, as the
configure script is more recent than configure.in (only by a few
seconds) and Makefile.in is about 5 years newer than Makefile.am
