"Optional package openmpi-1.1.4 fails to install on Solaris 10 SPARC"
is a bug report against a very old version of openMPI which was in Sage. The
version in Sage has been updated, and whilst the Solaris problem has not gone
away, the error message has changed.
I created a ticket for the bug on OpenSolaris (#10866) today, as that had never
been reported before.
I wonder if #8522 should be closed, and a new ticket created for the bug based
on the current version in Sage, since some of the information on that ticket is
out of date.
